Writing for the web? Make your content interesting. Actually, make it better than interesting – make it awesome!
Your content should grab your readers and make them want to come back for more. If you have plain old boring content no one is going to stick around to read it – or if they do, they’ll forget it (and you) as soon as they leave your site. Your main goal is to attract and keep your visitors, not bore them and make them run away. Don’t be afraid to write with emotion, either. You’re not a robot, so don’t talk like one!
Write content that sparks conversation.
State your opinion. Be transparent. Your readers may agree with you or they may disagree, but either way you’ll get their attention. This is the type of content that gets bookmarked, linked to, and discussed on forums and social networking sites. You want to get a reaction out of your readers!
Exude confidence in what you are writing about and be absolutely sure that you’re providing accurate information before you hit that “publish” button. Do your homework so it doesn’t come back to bite you. A great reputation takes a long time to build, but no time at all to destroy.
Great content is the key to success when building your website. New and fresh content will keep your readers coming back for more!
